To help those delving into veganism for the first time, we at The Stay Club analysed Happy Cow and Uber Eats data to uncover the best boroughs in London for vegans. Rankings were based on the number of vegan-friendly establishments and takeaways within each borough to uncover the 10 best boroughs for the dietary preference.
So, with Veganuary underway, let’s dive into the 10 boroughs in London with the most vegan-friendly options!

To uncover the best boroughs in London for vegans, analysed the number of vegan-friendly establishments and takeaways within each borough, using Happy Cow and Uber Eats, and calculated a total for each borough to reveal the best ones in London for vegans.

For those in the mood for a night in, Hackney’s 507 vegan-friendly takeaways allow vegans to enjoy a hearty meal at home. This brings Hackney’s total to 646 vegan spots, securing its position as the best London borough for vegans.
Islington
Following closely behind is Islington. The London borough, favoured for its arts and cultural scene, is thriving with must-visit spots for vegans. With 151 vegan-friendly eateries and 483 takeaways with vegan options, it’s filled with options for vegans and those participating in the January challenge. This brings Islington’s total to 634, securing the borough a spot in second place.
Camden
Famous for its sprawling market and cultural scene, Camden takes third place among London boroughs thanks to its impressive 628 vegan-friendly spots. This total includes 145 establishments, including trending cafes, must-visit restaurants, and 483 takeaways for those cosy nights in.
Tower Hamlets
However, Camden isn’t alone, as Tower Hamlets comes in equal third among the best boroughs in London for vegans. With 146 vegan-friendly eateries and 482 takeaways with vegan options, totalling 628 spots ideal for vegans, Tower Hamlets secures its place in the top three among London boroughs.
Lambeth
Whether eating in or dining out, Lambeth residents favouring a vegan diet have plenty of options. The London borough is home to an impressive 616 vegan-friendly spots, securing its rank in fourth place.
The fourth-best borough in London for vegans has 143 establishments and 476 takeaways that cater to vegans, providing plenty of options for those attempting the ‘Veganuary’ challenge.
Hammersmith and Fulham
In fifth place is the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Known for its theatres and football clubs, it’s a hotspot for entertainment. However, its 616 vegan-friendly spots should also be recognised.
As the fifth-best borough in London for plant-based diets, residents and visitors can revel in the choice of 139 vegan-friendly establishments and 477 takeaways with menus featuring options for this dietary preference.
Kensington and Chelsea
The findings uncover Kensington and Chelsea as another great borough for vegans and secures sixth place. Known for its luxe vibe and rich culture, the borough is home to an impressive 147 vegan establishments, ranging from chic restaurants to cosy cafes that offer plant-based options.
Its extensive selection of 453 takeaways equipped with vegan-friendly options brings the borough’s total to 600, making Kensington and Chelsea a go-to for plant-based dishes.
Newham
In seventh place among the best boroughs in London for vegans is Newham. This culture-rich and park-filled borough has hundreds of vegan-friendly spots. With 128 establishments and 460 takeaways catering to a plant-based diet, its extensive selection clocks in at 588 spots, ensuring borough residents and beyond can embrace a plant-based lifestyle.
Southwark
Our study uncovers Southwark as the eighth-best borough in London for vegans. The borough’s admirable attractions include many eateries, with vegan-friendly options among the must-try establishments.
For those attempting a vegan lifestyle in Southwark, the borough is equipped with plant-based spots, including 146 establishments, including cafes and restaurants, and 415 takeaways, resulting in a total of 561 vegan-friendly spots.
Haringey
Known for its impressive architecture, scenic parks, and world-class Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Haringey is also an accessible borough for the vegan community. With 133 eateries and 141 takeaways with plant-based options, Haringey’s 547 vegan-friendly spots secure its position in the 10 best boroughs in London for vegans.
Westminster
Rounding off the top 10 is Westminster. This affluent borough is a tourist hotspot thanks to notable landmarks such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. However, Westminster also offers 543 vegan-friendly spots, including 395 takeaways and 148 establishments, landing it a spot as the tenth best London borough for vegans.

We used data from Happy Cow and Uber Eats to count vegan-friendly restaurants and takeaways in each borough and ranked them based on the number available to uncover the top spots for vegan living in the city.
