Most Instagrammable Winter Installations in London

This winter, cosy up in some of London’s picture-perfect locations. From impressive hotels to phenomenally inspiring markets and well thought out department stores, the city is a haven for those that want to visit aesthetically pleasing sights. The Stay Club Team has rounded up the most instagrammable winter installations in one beautiful blog entry, so feel free to scroll down to uncover London’s beauties!

1. Liberty London

The Grade II listed building has a Tudor inspired façade that hints to pretty much anything other than the luxury department store that it is; and we mean that in the best way possible! The intricate building is cornered by Great Marlborough Street, Carnaby and close-by to Kingly Court’s vibrant eating and drinking destination. The vibe of Liberty’s at first glance is homey, with a flower shop display welcoming crowds to a breath-taking interior that combines wood and red velvet perfectly. Liberty’s first opened its doors in 1875, and has come a long way from its ornament stocking days, finding a way to maintain high quality and even higher aesthetics in anything this department store is up to!

2. Leadenhall Market

Once in the heart of Roman London, Leadenhall Market has a strong presence dating back to the 14th century! The shopping and leisure centre went through a refurb towards the end of the 19th century, keeping its Victorian grace intact, for us to fawn over. The cobbled streets and the beautiful storefronts make for a travel back in time, but truth be told, nothing compares to the ceilings! The moment you pass through its arch, your sights automatically turn to the sky; well, your camera too! Big plus? This instagrammable destination offers a shelter from the rain, so it’s ideal for those winter months!

3. Borough Market

There is a great dispute if it’s the market itself, or the phenomenal food stalls that take the first place as click worthy. One of the largest and oldest food retail and wholesale markets in London, it offers a roof to an abundance of food makers that opt for traditional, unique and scrumptious treats. Borough’s numerous stalls, the rich smells and the imaginative displays make for the ideal weekend stroll (and Instagram post!).

4. Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House is located in one corner of Covent Garden square, often hidden away behind the curious crowds that flock to the location. The interior is spellbinding, and if visitors head all the way to the top, the ROH’s café bar is the ideal viewing platform! Bask at the crowds flowing through the Apple Market and gaze out at the area’s exquisite architecture, protected from London’s typical drizzle.

5. Daunt Books

If ever there was a city that had its very own Instagrammable bookstore, then that had to be London, with its abundance of bookworms looking for a bookshop that offers an experience more so than their next read. Daunt Books’s oak galleries are filled to the rim with travel books, and if you turn your head upwards the skylights are sure to grab your attention. Far from your average corner bookstore, the Marylebone beauty has acquired a reputation of its own, and same can be said for its branded canvas bags that you’re bound to spot on the tube. The fact that it’s warm and cosy is just an added plus for those cold winter months!

6. St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel

From the outside it looks like it has drawn inspiration straight from Hogwarts, and the filmmakers of the Harry Potter series thought so too, using it as a backdrop for St. Pancras scenes. Yet it’s not the exterior alone that is dazzling for any guest, it’s also the lush staircase inside of the hotel. The impressive carpeting, coupled with the unique tapestry and the maze-like structure of the staircase leaves room for budding photographers to experiment with angles, symmetry and model posing of all sorts!
